Our tips for a stress free wedding morning

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. It is a day filled with love, excitement, and joy. However, it can also be a day filled with stress and anxiety, especially in the morning when you’re getting ready. To help you start your day off on the right foot, here are some wedding morning tips to make your day as stress-free as possible.

Get enough sleep:

I know this is easier said than done, but it is most important to get enough sleep, a good night’s sleep before your wedding day will set you up.  This will help you wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep, and avoid staying up too late.

Eat a healthy breakfast:

Eating a healthy breakfast on your wedding day is important. A wedding day will be a marathon, not a sprint.  You will need the fuel to keep you energized throughout the day.   Wherever you are having your morning prep, try to order in a healthy selection of light bites, for example something that’s high in protein and low in sugar. Some good options include eggs, whole-grain toast, and fruit. After all you want the energy to keep you dancing late into the night.

Stay hydrated:

Drinking enough water is important to keep you hydrated but also be mindful of having to pee,!!

Get ready in a calm environment:

Beginning your wedding day in a calm atmosphere, is equally as  important as the rest of the wedding planning.  Invite your bridal party, your Mum and any of your friends who are important.  Do not forget to have fun and enjoy the moment.  But, keep the morning free from distractions and stress.  Our wedding tip is, surround yourself with positive people who will support you, and help keep you calm on your wedding day. This could include your bridesmaids, family members, or close friends.  Consider getting ready in a hotel room, especially if your ceremony is in the hotel.  Breakfast will be laid on and of course your hair and make-up artists will be familiar with the surroundings. The light will always be perfect for your wedding photographer. Therefore leaving you to relax and focus on getting ready.

Don't forget to pack your wedding essentials:

If you are getting ready in the hotel don’t forget to pack all of your wedding essentials. This will include your dress, shoes, jewellery, and any other accessories. As part of the morning prep photography, we always include the details of the day, specifically the shoes, flowers, jewellery, perfume, wedding invitations, and any other pieces that are important to you on your day.  It is ideal to have all these laid out in one location on the morning of the wedding.  This will ensure nothing gets left out and you can also see if something is missing.

Have a timeline:

Another good wedding tip is to have a timeline.  As part of our consultations with you we always put a timeline together for the day of the wedding.  It is not by any way regimental, but it adds a little structure to your day and it is helpful to have a timeline. We will have discussed your expectations with you before your wedding day.  We will include all of your must haves, and lists of photos.  As a result we put a timeline together based on our chats.  Beginning with, what time your hair and make-up are starting, what time we your wedding photographers will arrive to you, ideally the time you would need to be in the dress, and the approximate time we will be leaving.  We put this together for you so that you know what needs to be done and when. This will help you stay organized and avoid any last-minute surprises.

Take a moment to breathe:

It’s important to take a moment to breathe and relax on your wedding morning. Consider doing some light yoga or meditation to help calm your nerves and clear your mind. Play some relaxing music, light a candle with some relaxing essential oils in it.

Enjoy the moment:

Finally, the best wedding tip I can give you is. Remember to enjoy the moment! Your wedding day will go by quickly, so make sure to take in every moment and cherish it.

Your wedding morning can be a stressful time, but with these tips, you can start your day off on the right foot. Remember to take care of yourself, stay organized, and surround yourself with positivity. With a little bit of planning and preparation, you’ll be able to enjoy your special day to the fullest.
