Kate & Cormacs Winter Wedding

29.12.2023

Young Sweethearts

Kate and Cormac’s journey together began as young sweethearts. Their love blossoming from their early days of going out together from school.  Ultimately their bond grew stronger and stood the test of time. Therefore, laying the foundation for a love that would see them stand today surrounded by  family and friends and marry each other.

Opening of Champagne

It was early morning when we arrived to Kate’s house, we were welcomed by the warm ambience of the family home.  Hair and make-up artists were hard at work.  Kate surrounded by her four sisters and soon to be, sister in law was a vision of calmness and confidence.  It was easy to see the amount of preparation that been put into the day.  Everything was organised and ready for us to photograph, down to the smallest details.  In between the winter showers we grabbed our chance and went outside for some opening of the champagne photos. The cool winter sun made a brief appearance while the girls and Kate shared stories and jokes, and savoured each moment.

Daddys Girl

Kate, the youngest in her family, held a special place in her father’s heart.  Their bond was evident as he proudly escorted her down the aisle.  Understandably, creating a moment that spoke volumes of their unbreakable connection.  The love and warmth shared between father and daughter was evident.

Wedding Ceremony

Candles lined their local church, casting a warm glow and creating a romantic and ethereal atmosphere, providing a perfect setting for their union.  The wedding ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt, with each and every moment frozen in time through our lens. Surrounded by loved ones, Kate and Cormac exchanged vows, promising to journey through life hand in hand.

Portumna Castle.

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds ventured into the historic grounds of Portumna Castle.  Here between the trees on the avenue, in a setting that echoed the timeless beauty of their love. We captured some special memories, together with their bridal party we had some laughs and got some lovely photos. Moments frozen in time, against the backdrop of the castle and the setting winter sun, this newly married couple were a pleasure to work with.

Shearwater Hotel Ballinasloe

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, the festivities continued at the Shearwater Hotel Ballinasloe.  Adorned with twinkling Christmas lights, the venue looked like a winter wonderland.  It set the stage for an unforgettable celebration.  As always we love to get some photos with the cake and in the ballroom before the guests take their seats.  This pair of newlyweds were up for a laugh and Cormac whisked Kate off her feet, to mimick the cake topper they had picked for their wedding cake.

Celebration of Love

Cormac, as a talented musician serenaded his bride with some traditional melodies, each note echoing his love.  The music filled the air and intertwined with the banter from their guests it created an atmosphere filled with laughter joy, and a true celebration of love, in the loely setting of The Shearwater Hotel.

Fun Sparkler Photos

After dinner Kate and Cormac wanted to pop outside for some fun sparkler photos.  Needless to say, sparkler photos are always great fun, and this was no exception. The crisp winter air was filled with joy and laughter as their best friends and bridal party embraced the fun. They reveled in the craic and as a result, their laughter mingled with the crackle of the sparklers, therefore, creating an endless amount of memories for us to capture.

Wedding Photographers

During the day as photographers, we were not observers but storytellers, weaving together the story of their love.  With the twinkling lights as a backdrop and of course, the love that was in the room, Kate and Cormacs wedding day was a true pleasure to be a part of.  We are understandably grateful to have been part of their journey and to have witnessed the beauty of their love first hand.  As we were leaving The Shearwater Hotel the party was in full swing, with Kate and Cormac surrounded by their friends and family on the dance floor.

We wish you both a lifetime of happiness. Thank you for having us as your wedding photographers.
