A Wedding day full of emotion

As Galway wedding photographers, we always love photographing weddings at the Loughrea Hotel & Spa. Claire and Conor’s wedding day was full of emotion, laughter, and personal touches, from their ceremony at the Church of the Immaculate Conception to portraits at Ballyglunin Railway Station and a very special stop at Supermac’s on Main Street, Loughrea.

Bridal Preparations at Claire’s Home

Their day began with both houses full of excitement. Claire got ready in her beautiful new home. She was surrounded by all the girls. There was a lovely buzz in the house from the moment we arrived. Hair, makeup, dresses, laughter, and all those little morning details came together perfectly.

Groom Preparations and a Vintage Mustang Surprise

Meanwhile, Conor was getting ready with the lads in Claire’s brother’s house. The atmosphere was relaxed, fun, and full of anticipation before everyone made their way to the church.

One of the brilliant moments from the morning was Claire’s surprise for Conor.

She had arranged a vintage Mustang for him to drive himself to the church. It was such a thoughtful touch and a fantastic surprise. The car looked incredible and gave Conor a very stylish arrival for the ceremony.

It was one of those details that made the day feel even more personal.

Wedding Ceremony at the Church of the Immaculate Conception

Claire and Conor were married in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

The ceremony was filled with emotion, but there was also plenty of laughter throughout. It had that lovely balance of heartfelt moments and relaxed joy, which suited Claire and Conor perfectly.

There were smiles, happy tears, and so many natural reactions from family and friends. These are always some of our favourite moments to photograph because they tell the real story of the day.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside the church to congratulate the newlyweds before we headed off for photographs.

Wedding Photos at Ballyglunin Railway Station

After the ceremony, we went to Ballyglunin Railway Station to take wedding photos, including group photos and couple portraits.

Ballyglunin Railway Station is a beautiful location for wedding photography. It has so much character, charm, and history. The old railway setting gave Claire and Conor’s portraits a really timeless feel.

We photographed the family groups, bridal party, and then spent some time with Claire and Conor for their couple portraits. They were relaxed, happy, and great fun to work with, which made the photographs feel very natural.

It was the perfect stop before heading on to the reception.

A Special Stop at Supermac’s on Main Street, Loughrea

Before making our way to the Loughrea Hotel & Spa, we made one very special stop on Main Street in Loughrea.

Claire and Conor first met in Supermac’s, so it was only right to include it in their wedding day story.

We captured a few photographs inside the restaurant, which made for such a fun and personal part of the day. It was relaxed, full of laughter, and completely unique to them.

Then, outside the building, Conor dipped Claire and kissed her in front of Supermac’s. It was a brilliant moment and one of those photographs that will always mean something extra special.

These personal stops are what make a wedding gallery feel truly individual. For Claire and Conor, Supermac’s was not just a quick visit. It was part of where their story began.

Wedding Reception at Loughrea Hotel & Spa

The celebrations continued at the Loughrea Hotel & Spa.

The Loughrea Hotel is always a fantastic wedding venue. The team had everything looking beautiful, and the atmosphere was brilliant from the moment guests arrived.

There was great food, music, laughter, and plenty of craic throughout the evening. Claire and Conor were surrounded by family and friends who were clearly ready to celebrate properly.

Fun Wedding Photo Dash at the Reception

After being invited into the function room, Claire and Conor kicked things off with a brilliant photo dash.

This involved tearing around the room to capture a photograph of the bride and groom with each table. It was fast, funny, and full of energy. Everyone got involved, and it created some great memories before the evening celebrations really got underway.

It is always a fun way to include every table and bring a burst of excitement into the reception.

Galway Wedding Entertainment with Sean Slattery and The Connections

Once the formalities were complete, it was time for the dancing.

Sean Slattery and The Connections had the dance floor full and kept the party going well into the night. The atmosphere was electric, and Claire and Conor’s guests were more than ready for a celebration.

From the emotional ceremony to the vintage Mustang, the portraits at Ballyglunin Railway Station, the photo dash, and the packed dance floor, Claire and Conor’s wedding was a day full of personality.

It was a joy to be part of it.

Congratulations again to Claire and Conor. What a fantastic wedding day.

What Claire & Conor had to say "We cannot recommend Joe Crean Photography highly enough. Joe and AnnMarie were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They are incredibly talented, professional, and made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable. Their attention to detail and ability to capture special moments is truly amazing. Not only are they brilliant at what they do, but they are also lovely people to work with and know how to have the craic. We are delighted with our photos and will treasure them forever.
