Lindsey and Ollie’s Ardilaun Hotel Garden Wedding

Lindsey and Ollie at their Ardilaun Hotel garden wedding in Galway

An Outdoor Wedding Celebration in Galway

Lindsey and Ollie celebrated their wedding with a beautiful outdoor civil ceremony in the gardens of the Ardilaun Hotel in Galway. Surrounded by mature trees, greenery and their closest family and friends, the garden setting created a wonderfully relaxed and personal atmosphere for the beginning of their married life.

Following the ceremony, everyone remained outdoors for the drinks reception. The celebrations flowed naturally while guests enjoyed the surroundings and we captured the congratulations, laughter and candid moments unfolding around the newly married couple.

With the ceremony, drinks reception and photographs all taking place within the hotel grounds, Lindsey and Ollie were able to enjoy a relaxed day without unnecessary travel or long periods away from their guests.

An Outdoor Civil Ceremony in the Ardilaun Gardens

A Personal Ceremony Surrounded by Family, Friends and Nature

The Ardilaun gardens provided a peaceful and intimate setting for Lindsey and Ollie’s civil ceremony. Guests gathered outdoors as the couple exchanged their vows surrounded by greenery and the natural beauty of the hotel grounds.

An outdoor ceremony has a special atmosphere of its own. The changing light, movement of the trees and reactions of the guests all become part of the story. We photographed the important moments while also watching for the smiles, glances and emotional reactions happening throughout the ceremony.

Working as a husband-and-wife photography team allowed us to capture Lindsey and Ollie’s ceremony from two perspectives without interrupting its natural flow.

A Relaxed Garden Drinks Reception

Natural Moments and Celebrations in the Galway Sunshine

After the ceremony, the celebrations continued with a drinks reception in the Ardilaun gardens. Keeping the reception outdoors created a relaxed transition from the ceremony and gave Lindsey and Ollie time to greet their guests and enjoy the occasion.

The drinks reception is one of our favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph. With formalities temporarily paused, guests can relax while genuine conversations, laughter, embraces and spontaneous moments unfold naturally.

We worked discreetly around Lindsey and Ollie and their guests, documenting the atmosphere without constantly asking people to pose or look towards the camera.

Family and bridal-party photographs

Relaxed Group Photographs in the Ardilaun Gardens

The Ardilaun gardens also provided a convenient and attractive location for Lindsey and Ollie’s family and bridal-party photographs. Because everything took place close to the drinks reception, the important group photographs could be completed without taking anyone too far away from the celebration.

We organised the family groups efficiently while keeping the atmosphere light and relaxed. Once the family photographs were complete, we brought the bridal party together for a mixture of elegant portraits and more informal photographs that reflected the personalities and energy of the group.

Careful planning and clear direction helped everything move smoothly, allowing Lindsey and Ollie and their bridal party to return to the drinks reception without unnecessary delays.

Natural and Romantic Photographs Without Leaving the Venue

After the family and bridal-party photographs, we spent a short period creating relaxed portraits of Lindsey and Ollie together. The mature gardens offered a variety of natural backgrounds within a short walk of the reception.

Our couple sessions are never intended to feel like a long or overly formal photoshoot. We offer gentle direction when needed while allowing space for natural movement, conversation and genuine reactions.

By keeping the portrait session relaxed and efficient, Lindsey and Ollie received a varied collection of elegant and natural photographs while still having plenty of time to celebrate with their guests.
