Bridal Preparations at Avril’s Family Home
Avril spent the morning getting ready in her parents’ home, surrounded by her family and bridesmaids. The familiar setting created a wonderfully relaxed and personal atmosphere, with plenty of natural moments to photograph as everyone prepared for the day ahead. There was even time for a champagne spray.
A Meaningful Civil Ceremony at the Ardilaun Hotel
We met Darragh at the Ardilaun Hotel as he prepared to welcome Avril and begin their celebration. Their civil ceremony included a beautiful handfasting ritual, with each parent placing a different-coloured ribbon across the couple’s joined hands. It was a meaningful and deeply personal moment, symbolising the joining of two lives and two families.
Garden Drinks Reception and Wedding Portraits
With beautiful weather throughout the afternoon, the drinks reception was held in the gardens of the Ardilaun Hotel. We made the most of the sunshine and picturesque surroundings to capture the family photographs outdoors, followed by relaxed portraits of the bridal party and some beautiful photographs of Avril and Darragh together in the hotel gardens.
Heartfelt Speeches and Dinner
Before dinner, both fathers delivered heartfelt speeches filled with warm memories, kind words, and plenty of emotion. Avril also took the opportunity to say a few words herself, adding another lovely personal moment to the celebration before everyone settled in to enjoy dinner together.
